Jeffrey M. Krauss - Chairman
Jeffrey M. KraussMr. Krauss is a Managing Member of the Psilos Group of New York City. He focuses on healthcare information technology, pharmaceutical and medical devices. He currently serves on the Boards of Versamed, Valera Pharmaceuticals, HealthEdge and OneShield. Previously, Mr. Krauss was a general partner at Nazem & Company. Prior to joining Nazem, Mr. Krauss was an attorney with the New York law firm of Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett, where he specialized in private equity transactions originated by KKR. Before that, Mr. Krauss was an auditor with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young. He currently serves as an advisor to the New York City Investment Fund in the Fund's, Healthcare Sector Group. Mr. Krauss graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the State of New York, and is also licensed in the State of New York as an Attorney.
David Eichler
David EichlerMr. Eichler is a Managing Member with the Psilos Group of New York. He focuses on healthcare services and medical technologies and has extensive experience as an advisor to senior management and boards of directors on M&A and capital transactions. Mr. Eichler currently serves as Executive Chairman of Caregiver Services and a Director of Acuity Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career, he was an investment banker at Wasserstein, Perella &Co. Mr. Eichler also worked as a defense policy analyst for DynCorp, focusing on issues relating to nuclear nonproliferation and export control. He holds an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia, as well as a masters degree in National Security Studies from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in Government and International Relations from Cornell University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
William J. Christy
William J. ChristyMr. Christy is President and CEO and is a board member of SpineMatrix. Mr. Christy is a veteran of several successful startup companies across the medical device industry that he has guided from early stage through commercial launch, global distribution and successful exit, creating exceptional value for all stakeholders. He has a strong and proven background as an operating executive, most recently serving as CEO of AOI Medical, a device company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative orthopaedic medical devices for the spine and trauma markets, and as President and CEO of Ortheon Medical LLC, where he led the company in its development and commercialization of a new technology for the repair of tendons in the body. Mr. Christy has been involved with several companies as founder, CEO and Executive Director, including ESD Medical LLC, a gynecology tubal ligation product company which he successfully founded, capitalized and transacted to US Surgical Corporation, and Synergistic Medical Technologies Inc., a laparoscopic product company that he founded, grew internationally and transacted to Ethicon Endo-Surgery (a Johnson & Johnson company). Mr. Christy is also a co-founder and former Regional Sales Director of Ethicon Endo-Surgery. Mr. Christy received his B.S./B.A. from the University of Central Florida and has an MBA from Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business.
Tim Biro
Tim BiroMr. Biro is Chief Technology Officer of SpineMatrix and is a founder and board member of the company. Mr. Biro has an extensive background in the medical device and life science industries, having previously served as the Managing Partner of the Ohio Innovation Fund and a general partner of Reservoir Venture Partners. He has 18 years of venture capital experience in early-stage technology investing and has served as CEO for four early-stage portfolio companies. Mr. Biro's operating experience also includes several roles in operations management, quality control and manufacturing with Merck & Company and in cancer research with Hershey Medical Center. Mr. Biro holds bachelor degrees in Microbiology and Pharmacy from Penn State University and Temple University, as well as an MBA from The Wharton School of Business.
Dan Kellogg
Dan KelloggMr. Kellogg is currently a partner with Crystal Ventures. He has served either as an advisor or board member of several firms including Astoria Software, Employon, NetGenics, RF Solutions and RoweCom. Mr. Kellogg has operated a financial advisory investment banking firm named Kellogg and Associates. Before owning his own banking firm, he was an investing principal of the Cleveland-based National City Capital Corporation. Mr. Kellogg participated in Silicon Valley firms involved in various markets including medical electronics, arsenide integrated circuits and electronic tools for the construction industry. He received an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Stanford University.
